P&C Insurance Agent
$20 / hour
For candidates with an active California Property & Casualty license.
- Listen to clients, understand their needs, and explain coverage, limits, deductibles, and exclusions in plain language.
- Prepare and compare quotes, help complete accurate applications, and arrange coverage within your license and agency authority.
- Follow up on inquiries, support renewals and policy changes, and keep clear records in our agency system.
- Work with carriers and teammates to solve client questions with care and attention to detail.

CSR / Agent Trainee
$19 / hour
No insurance license required to start. You must be willing to study and obtain your California P&C license.
- Welcome clients, answer calls, schedule follow-ups, and help our team stay organized.
- Collect information and documents, enter accurate records, and support licensed agents with administrative work.
- Route coverage advice, quoting decisions, and sales to a licensed agent until you are properly licensed and authorized.
- Complete the agreed licensing study plan and prepare for the California P&C exam.

Start as a CSR. Build toward a license.
CoverToday pays approved expenses for your licensing path: online school and exam preparation, the license application, required background processing and fingerprinting, and the exam fee. The typical total is about $800; actual fees vary.
Online learning is self-paced. We will agree on the study schedule, covered expenses, and how training time is handled before enrollment, consistent with applicable wage requirements.

Complete the required education and prepare thoroughly for the P&C examination.

Pass the exam, complete the licensing process, and take on agent responsibilities once licensed and authorized.
California currently requires 12 hours of ethics and Insurance Code education for new P&C applicants. Exam preparation takes additional study time, depending on your background and course. See California licensing requirements ↗

We use modern tools, including AI, to help with routine work. Clients still need someone who listens, explains their choices, and takes responsibility for the service they receive. An insurance license, sound judgment, and trusted relationships are valuable skills as the industry changes.
